Tennis wagering can get intricate and confusing, and a poorly made online betting system can make those issues even worse. While 888 excels in many types of sports betting, is their tennis betting an ace, or should you find a better place to play?
I took a detailed look at 888sport tennis betting, including how it works, its ease of use, what games you can bet on, and everything else you need to know.
An Overview of 888sport Tennis Betting
Before my first visit to the tennis section of their site, I held high hopes because I’m comfortable with the security features and general functions of the 888 brand. They’re a well-established, publicly-traded company that I trust with my personal financial information.
If it’s a game with a score, the chances are good that you can bet on it at 888sport. They offer all major sporting leagues, pub games, horse and greyhound racing, motor racing, and much more.

The tennis page is directly accessible from their home page. It’s in the left column, along with three other featured sports: basketball, ice hockey, and football. While the fact that it’s easy to find is a nice bonus, what I really like about its placement on the front page is how it shows that 888sport takes tennis betting seriously.
Main Features
Here’s a look at the main features of 888’s tennis betting, based on my personal experience.
Site Layout
Let’s start with the basics. What does 888 tennis look like, and how does it function?
Like the rest of the 888sport site, the tennis section doesn’t “wow” me from a design perspective. It has a small font with mainly orange and black colouring. Fortunately, these are only aesthetic issues. The tennis pages function well, load quickly, and are easy to navigate.

The main tennis area is similar to all other sport pages offered by 888sport. A column on the left of the screen provides easy navigation to the entire site. On the right side, the Betslip box displays all of your current wagers and total stake.
In the middle is where you’ll find current tennis action. You can select between Live and Upcoming Matches. When you find a game you want to wager on, clicking on the title takes you to a new page where you can read details about the match and then select your bet.
Game Options
Pretty easy call here. If someone is hitting a tennis ball across a net to someone else, you can likely wager on it with 888sport. Their most popular markets include:
- Australian Open
- Davis Cup
- Fed Cup
- French Open
- US Open
- Wimbledon
- WTA Tour
Additionally, you can bet on any ATP match. ATP, or the Association of Tennis Professionals, is the governing body of men’s professional tennis circuits. They host 64 tournaments across 31 countries.

On the plus side, you’ll find no shortage of matches to bet on, even during times between the major tournaments. However, not all ATP matches feature well-known players. If you’re more of a casual tennis fan, you might have to do some research at times if you want to make informed wagers – or you can do what I do and just take your best guess!
Types of Bets
Clicking on a match takes you to the Betting Odds page. You can place a straight bet on the winner or play the odds on total games, total sets, first set winner, second set winner, and more.

Clicking on a match takes you to its Popular tab, which displays the most common bet types. However, if you click on the All Markets tab, you can make more obscure bets, such as Lost 1st & Win Match. I mention that because it’s easy for new users to think the only bets you can make are the Popular ones, but lots of other options are available, too.

As you’d expect from an online casino, they offer introductory bonuses. New customers receive $30 in free bets if their first bet is $10 or more. Also, if you win a bet at four to one odds, 888 will reward you with a $5 free bet.
Pros and Cons
Here’s what I think are the main benefits of 888 tennis betting, as well as a few areas where I think the platform could improve:
Pros:
- Navigating games is easy. Multiple sorting options allow you to quickly find the tournaments or players you’re interested in.
- You have multiple betting options. Whether you want to place a simple wager on the winner or set up something far more complex, 888sport offers plenty of flexibility when structuring your bets.
- The introductory bonuses are fun and easy to use. Some online casinos make bonus offers too confusing, but 888 keeps it simple by rewarding you when you win instead of forcing you to spend your free bets in any particular way.
Cons:
- The site could use a visual upgrade. Scrolling through the matches would be easier if they were differentiated by colour. Unfortunately, the site is fairly dull to look at.
- More information on each player would be nice. For instance, I’d love it if I could click on a player’s name and see a brief bio and stats.
Final Thoughts
888sport takes tennis betting seriously. They feature it prominently on their main page, and it’s obvious they’ve put a lot of work into making sure users can always find quality matches to wager on. Plus, the betting system is flexible and easy to understand.
While I’d love to see more player stats, and perhaps an overhaul to the look of the site in general, overall I think 888sport tennis betting makes an excellent doubles partner for any fan of the sport.
